Well I made a new twitter to those of you who are confused about the message I sent out saying to follow @fowler_amy as I would be deleting @AmyFowler_ and if you are now confused here's what happened. Twitter said that before I deleted @AmyFowler_ I had to change the username if I wanted to use that username to make another account before deleting. This is because twitter stores information from deleted accounts for 30 days after deleting so I had to change it because I wanted to use it again. So I ended up changing away from @fowler_amy and BACK to @AmyFowler_. So if any of you are looking for this @fowler_amy IT DOES NOT EXIST. If you went to @AmyFowler_ and are wondering why you are not following me, this is why. Thanks for putting up with all this confusion crap, if you didn't put up with it then I understand and apologize.
So I guess I could talk about my life or I could talk about more interesting things. So I think I'm going to talk about The Perks of Being a Wallflower and it's film adaption that is getting a lot of attention lately. I understand why this film is getting all the attention it is because I don't think that there is anyone out there more excited for this film than I am. Which is rediculous to say because I'm sure all the people who are obsessed with the book are going to say that. But first thing's first. This is a book that was written by Stephen Chbosky and was extremely well recieved in 1999 when it was published. If you want to know more about this book, check out my review here. The author of the book has written the screenplay and is directing the film. This is great to hear because whenever film adaptions of books are being made, the main question is always "how will the film be different from the book?". It is obvious that even with the author of the book writing/directing the film, the film will not be the same as the book and anyone thinking that it will be needs to stop before they get dissapointed.
Now I think there are two things that people are mainly concerned or worried about pertaining to this film. The first thing is the cast. Now I've heard my fair share of Logan Lerman being too this and not enough that, Emma Watson is too popular, Paul Rudd is too famous, too old. I'd like to say that I think the cast is great and I've got some reasons to back it up. be reminded that the man who created Charlie, Sam, Patrick, Bill etc. chose these people to play them. I think people need to understand that an actor is not a character. Emma Watson is not Hermoine Granger, Logan Lerman is not Percy Jackson, and Nina Dobrev is not Elena Gilbert. I'm saying this because some people complain about these actors having these characters in their background and apparently it's a problem. Instead of judging these actors by what fanbase their previous jobs have, keep an open mind about this film and know that they were chosen for a reason. Logan Lerman will be leading the film, playing "Charlie". I have complete faith in him to not only pull this off but even win an oscar for it. I think that he is a great actor. If you're getting discouraged about Logan Lerman playing Charlie because of Percy Jackson, try watching some of the other films he's done. He's been acting for bout 15 years which is a lot more than most his age. If you must, try watching "My One and Only" this film stars Logan Lerman alongside Renee Zellweger is great, also try "Jack and Bobby", it's a TV series that Logan starred in at 12 years old and I think it shows a lot of his skill. Also keep in mind that he has grown as an actor since then. One thing that got me anticipating this even more was this article. Read it here. Yes, Emma Watson was in Harry Potter. I don't see why this is a problem either. Harry Potter has been loved by the whole world for the past ten years. Yes, it's based on a kids book series but come on, you still watched Harry Potter right until the end. Now Emma signed on to this project at nine years old and couldn't exactly quit until she was 21. She is a professional actress and of course takes her work seriously, once again she is not Hermione Granger. I'm a huge huge fan of this book and it's been quite dear to me for a long time and I completely trust this cast and the movie. I may or may not be proven wrong when the movie comes out but I'm not going to get all stressed out over it. I'm extremely excited and of course a little bit nervous to see it. I hope it's everything I'm imagining it to be and if it isn't then we still have the book. I was quite upset when I heard that Chbosky was aiming for a PG-13 rating, meaning that some content will have to be removed such as the smoking of cigarettes and some other things I'm unaware of. I was just hoping that they don't take out too much or they will just lose the plot. The back or the book specifically says "It's the world of sex, drugs, and the Rocky Horror Picture Show". You can't take out water down the sex and drugs too much or you've just got a lonely boy in Pittsburgh who reads books, listens to music and goes to Rocky Horror. I think the whole essence of the book is the fact that life isn't watered down for you, it isn't censored, it's just there, it doesn't slow down when you need it too. It's hard and it's unfair and it's harsh. I really hope that this isn't lost in the making of the film. This is really my only hope with the film, that the essence and meaning of the book are still there. Nevermind "witches, vampires and demigods shouldn't be in this". Does anyone want to agree? Disagree? Share their opinions? Tell me I'm completely crazy? haha! Well if you have and quesions or comments you can leave them here or contact me. -Love always, Amy Today was beautiful and I was able to get some pictures of it. The Toronto skyline was clearly visible for some places I was today but unfortunately it's unclear in tht pictures. Sadly it was much too far. But, here are the pictures I took today.
It's funny. I really love all kinds of art. Film, books, paintings, drawings, music. I'm really into writing, which is good since it's the profession I'm chasing. But the thing is, I absolutely love crafts. Now I really have no idea how common this is but I love making cards, collages, and really just about anything. But today I made a collage that I am absoultely proud of. I decided to do it because I'm going to be moving out of my parents house pretty soon and I need to start getting things that I'm going to put in my apartment. I made this collage completely black and white and it's quite personal. I think it's absolutely beautiful and I'm going to frame it. So if you want to see. Here is the decorative collage I made today! :)
